Shuster Laboratories, Canton, MA, was acquired by Specialized Technology Resources (STR), Enfield, CT. Shuster was previously owned by Hauser Inc., Long Beach, CA and Longmont, CO. Shuster Laboratories will continue operations under its own name as an independent subsidiary of STR, company executives said. The purchase is STR’s fourth major expansion since 1999, when the company acquired Cal Safety Compliance Corp. (CSCC). In 2000, STR established a consumer products testing laboratory in Istanbul, Turkey, and last year the company opened STR-Registrar LLC to provide accredited ISO 9000 services to domestic and international companies.
